About Us

Our Story

Vision of Hope Initiative (VHI) was established and geared towards relieving and improving the lives of individuals living with the devastating effects of alcohol and other drug addiction in Tanzania.

The operators of VHI have at one time been a victim to the calamity for many years of our lives up and until they were assisted by people who were running recovery facilities well known as sober houses. After gaining sanity, it was envisioned that it would be a blessing to others if a facility is started which shall add to what was already there in the industry. It has been years now seeing affected people get into our facility and pass out clean to embark a fresh into usual activities. It is true that VHI have seen many who wrecked their lives rejoin their community with a holistic approach to life adding value to the families once devastated by the unbearable habit of addiction. To VHI, the graduation of one has always been a memorable event worth celebrating hilariously.
It is for this reason that VHI maintained a steady service to this perverted and ruined group within Arusha District. While measures are taken by the authority to arrest the situation without habiting the affected, VHI find it more helpful to keep them impounded and provided of shelter, meals and structured support while walking them through their recovery journey before social reintegration to the community independently after a period of rehabilitative confinement. In the efforts of bringing sanity to them, VHI have received support from a team of Clinical Psychiatrists, Spiritual Mentors, Counselors and Dual Diagnostic Therapy by recovering addicts that is endorsed by the Regional Medical Authority.
